St Andrew the Apostle School benefits from the support of our sponsor, the Russell Education Trust (RET), a highly successful educational trust, with extensive experience in the implementation of best educational practice in schools nationally – and particularly in establishing new schools. Ofsted’s glowing report on the first RET school, Bristol Free School, can be read here.
Mr Ahearn and the other four RET headteachers work closely together, with RET advisers, to share excellent practice and curriculum development, for the benefit of all our students.
RET is a not-for-profit charitable trust. It is sponsored by Education London (EL), an educational consultancy that works in partnership with a number of outstanding schools and academies, senior inspectors, academics and education leaders to support the implementation of best practice in schools nationally. (EL were the DfE’s school improvement provider for the London Challenge and supported over eighty schools including 22 of the 23 most improved London Schools in 2009/10.)
RET schools are inclusive comprehensives with the highest possible academic standards, working closely with parents, serving their locality and working as part of their local (and diocesan) family of schools. RET are firmly resolved that St Andrew’s, in common with other RET schools, will be judged to be outstanding both by parents and Ofsted within two years of opening.
