Welcome to our own transition page! Due to COVID-19 and the impact it is having on our planning, for your transition programme, we have created this page to make sure you receive all of the usual information virtually.
In updating our website, our aim is to support your transition to St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School. Firstly and most importantly, I hope that both you and your families are keeping well. In these challenging and uncertain times, I wish to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure that your move to secondary school is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Although it might sound strange, some things have not changed at all! It remains to be the case that we are delighted that you have chosen St Andrew the Apostle School and we are excited for you to experience what school life is like here.
In the meantime, any questions or queries can be directed to this email address: email@example.com and marked for the attention of Mrs De-Freitas (Head of Year 7 2020/21)
On their arrival in September, students quickly get to know St Andrew the Apostle’s procedures and everyday expectations. The Year 7 tutor team supports and guides students in their new school, helping them to settle quickly. In September, a Parent Information Evening will be held to share further information to support each student joining the school. This event also provides an early platform to discuss any specific questions or issues that have arisen with pastoral leaders.
Starting at a new school often raises lots of questions for both students and their parents/carers. To help make the whole process as easy and enjoyable as possible, we have created some documents which collects together all the essential information for you. In additional there will be some summer work for your child to complete. As soon as we send this to all our families we will update this page.
I look forward to meeting you all very soon.

The Transition Programme
The transition programme for students joining St Andrew the Apostle runs for over a year and aims to provide opportunities for new students to become familiar with the building, staff and other students as well as the standards and expectations of the school.
There will be a letter to all families allocated a place at St Andrew the Apostle from the Head Teacher giving details of the transition programme.
Chickenshed has developed transition to Secondary School films which are a mixture of acted, sung and movement scenes all connected to young people feeling that they have a voice in a new school and getting the support they need when they experience different barriers and risks.
