Free Schools

Current legislation

Following recent legislation, all new schools must now be either Academies or Free Schools. The Free School legislation allows us, the proposing group, to establish and define the secondary school that people really want.  We receive the same level of funding as other local schools, and in common with other local schools that have converted to Academy status we are funded directly by Government rather than by the Local Authority.  Nevertheless, we work in partnership with the Local Authority to ensure that our school makes a positive contribution to the local family of schools.
