6th Form Curriculum Guide - Year 13 History
Term 1Edward VI and Mary I   
The study of Edwardian England under the rule of the the Lord Protectors. This part of the course will explore the foreign relations, government, religious changes and rebellions under Edward VI and Mary I.
Assessment: The students will be assessed with one essay exam question and one extract question involving three interpretations. Key Words and Terms
 
Term 1The Johnson presidency, 1963-1968, parts III and IV   
This chapter will address the conditions of African-Americans in the North and South, as well as social divisions and the development of protest movements.

Term 2Elizabeth - Part I   
This module explores the transition from Marian England to early Elizabethan England. The module focuses on the Elizabethan Settlement, government and foreign policy.

Term 2Republican reaction: the Nixon presidency, 1968-1974   
This unit will address the reasons for Nixon's 1968 presidential victory; the restoration of conservative social policies; the limits of American world power and the Watergate Affair and its aftermath.

Term 3Elizabeth - Part II    
The exploration of the religious, economic, foreign and political policies under Elizabeth I's middle and latter reign.

This unit will address Ford and Carter's presidencies; the position of the USA as a world power; African-Americans int he North and South and the USA by 1980.

Term 4Tudors Revision - Part I   
The student will reflect back to the content learned in Year 12 and practise the exam skills involving extracts.
