|The "Homeric World" component is based around life in ancient Greece just over three thousand years ago. The Culture half of the topic covers the ancient Civilization known as the Mycenaean Age.
In this unit we study the location and importance of key sites of the Mycenaean world and what life was like in Mycenaean cities. We look at the sites themselves and objects that have been found in them. These things tell us what priorities the Mycenaeans had in their daily lives. |

|Revision - Tackling the written examination - Revision of the course content is taking place this term. Students use their personal notes as well as revision notes prepared for them in order to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of the three units that comprise the exam element of the specification. We also practice exam – style questions linked to each of the three papers.

|Revision - Tackling the written examination - This term we focus on the more complex essay questions to ensure that students tackle these questions confidently. We study model answers to some of these questions and we annotate them to show evidence for the comments provided by the examiner. Students also plan their own responses to such questions which they then answer under exam conditions.
