Term 1Stage 9, Book 1 of CLC   
Stage 9, Book 1 of CLC. The stories that we study in Stage 9 take place in the public baths. Pupils explore the different rooms that comprised the public baths and their functions. In stage 9, we study the dative case as a first attempt to approach more complex sentence structures in Latin.

Term 2Stage 10, Book 1 of CLC 
Stage 10, Book 1 of CLC. This term we learn about the Roman education system, its nature, origin and purpose. The linguistic content of this unit includes different ways to ask questions in Latin and more complex sentence structures.

Term 3Stage 11, Book 1 of the CLC 
Stage 11, Book 1 of the CLC. Before attempting to study any new language content, there is detailed revision of the grammar features studied in book 1. In stage 11, we learn about Pompeian politics and rivalry between factions. We also complete the remaining present tenses and study 1 and 2 person plural comparatives.

Term 4Stage 12, Book 1 of the CLC 
Stage 12, Book 1 of the CLC. The concluding unit of book 1 is dedicated to the dramatic events that unfolded in Pompeii in 79 A.D, with the eruption of Vesuvius and the destruction of the city. By exploring the passages found in stage 12, the pupils find out what happened to the characters that have accompanied them in Book 1.

Term 5Stage 13, Book II of the CLC 
Stage 13, Book II of the CLC. In year 8 pupils also study aspects of the Roman rule in Britain. The language content of stages 13 and 14 includes infinitives after possum, volo-que, possum, volo, nolo, perfect and imperfect revision as well as vocabulary learning Britain.

Term 6Stage 14, Book II of the CLC 
Stage 14, Book II of the CLC. In stage 14, pupils learn about agreement of adjectives tabulation of imperatives impersonal verbs. In terms of background culture, the first two stages of Book II are about farming, slavery and life in Roman Britain.
