• Secondary research tasks. • Design ideas and development of product. • Specification writing. • CAD training in 2D Design tasks. • Manufacture of product. • Packaging development using Vacuum former. • Evaluation and testing.

Term 2Key fob blister packaging  
Students to design and make packaging that protects and advertises their key fobs using the vacuum former and CAD design. Create 2 designs on paper for their chosen packaging. Recreate these design using CAD to enhance their ICT skills. Print designs using templates to practice their hand cutting skills using craft knives and safety equipment. Use the vacuum former to create the blister of the packaging with PVC using their key fobs as molds.
Assessment: Once every 2/4 weeks on specific pieces of design process and making. Final assessment of CAD/CAM key fob project.Key Words and Terms
 
Term 4Decorative tote bag   
• Secondary research tasks including product analysis. • Design ideas and drawing techniques. • Machine health and safety. • Machine testing of materials and manufacturing methods. • Manufacture of product using decorative techniques such as embroidery and appliqué. • Evaluation and testing.

Term 6Sock soft toy project
• Secondary research tasks including product analysis. • Design ideas. • Toy health and safety theory. • Up cycling of socks to create a toy, planning and preparation. • Manufacture of product using machine and hand stitching techniques. • Evaluation and testing with photographs.
