Learning aim A: KNOW UK travel and tourism destinations and gateways
Students will complete a series of maps of the UK which show various types of visitor attractions as well as gateways (airports, train stations, ports) to these attractions.
Learning aim B: INVESTIGATE the appeal of UK tourism destinations for different types of visitors
Students will investigate a number of tourist destinations (for example, in London) and look at the appeal of these places to a wide range of people.
Learning aim C: Plan UK holidays to meet the needs of different visitors
Students will ultimately plan a holiday for a select group of visitors to a chosen holiday destination in the UK.
Students will be assessed on this unit in a series of written pieces of coursework.
Learning aim A:
Students will complete a series of maps which identify visitor destinations and gateways across the UK.
Learning aim B:
Students will carry out online research into a series of holiday destinations and produce a brochure which outlines the ways in which these places are attractive to a number of different types of visitors.
Learning aim C:
Students will identify two specific visitor types who may like to visit tourist attractions in the UK. Students will then produce a travel brochure which identifies places visitors may be interested in visiting; and explain reasons why they would be attractive to these visitors.
Students will investigate a range of locations within the UK. They will appreciate how these places are attractive to a wide range of people from different backgrounds, of different age groups and identities.
Students will produce brochures of interest to a variety of different people in the community.

Learning aim B: Investigate the appeal of international travel and tourism destinations to different types of visitor
Learning aim C: Be able to plan international travel to meet the needs of visitors
This unit is assessed through a series of written pieces of coursework.

Learning aim B:
Students will complete a brochure which describes and explains how a series of international tourist destinations would appeal to a number of different types of visitors.
Learning aim C:
Students will plan an international holiday for a particular group of holiday makers. Students will aim to meet the customer requirements by planning a tailor-made holiday package to meet all specified needs.
Students reflect on other people's needs based on their own background.
Students aim to provide a product which meets the needs of other people from different backgrounds.
